- You are sinning against God
You are sinning against God
And calling it “not that deep.”
Let me explain —
There was a season where I knew God.
but I didn’t feel super close to Him…
For some time I kept asking God to change my life.
BUT I didn’t want to change everything.
I kept praying for freedom to escape my BIG sins. Lust. Laziness. The obvious ones for me.
But I was still holding onto the things
that were keeping me attached to sin.
I wasn’t trying to walk away from God.
I was just trying to keep parts of my old life alive.
It showed up in the “small things” first:
The music I was listening to
The way I talked
What I let into my mind daily
What I kept calling “not that big of a deal”
was slowly shaping who I was becoming.
I was trying to stop the BIG sin,
without changing what was feeding it.

TAKE ACTION
I didn’t even realize it at first.
But those “small” things started shaping what I wanted.
Pulling me closer to the sins I was praying to escape.
The same cycles.
The same frustration.
The same feeling of going in circles.
Things then became clear to me:
When we feed our flesh, we stop hearing God clearly.
Unfortunately, we all fall into sin.
But every time we sin, it gets easier to sin again.
However, when we walk in His presence,
everything starts to line back up:
Our purpose
Our direction
Our God-given peace
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

GOD LOVES YOU
This is reality.
God doesn’t see me as someone trying to be better. He sees me as someone who already died with Christ and now lives through Him.
You still have a choice every day
Are you feeding your flesh?
Or are you feeding your spirit?
Scripture says our old self was crucified with Jesus, so we would no longer be slaves to our sin.
But I’ve learned freedom still requires intention.
Jesus said we have to “deny ourselves daily.” Not once. Not twice. Daily.
And when I fail, I’m learning not to run.
That’s exactly what the enemy wants.
I use it as an opportunity to move closer to God, not further away!
Conviction doesn’t crush me anymore.
It brings me home — straight to God!
Fear keeps us involved with sin.
Comfort makes it feel normal.
Comfort is dangerous.

GIVE IT TO GOD
You have to move
In order to kill the old you, you must take action. Start in the things that keep leading you back into sin.
The more I focused on removing worldly music, fixing the way I spoke to people/myself, and guarding what I let into my mind… everything started to change.
Someone said this and it hasn’t left me:
God only needed a week to create the world,
so of course He can change yours in a week.
The life we’ve been given was created to be lived close to Christ. To walk in His purpose and to stay connected to Him.
Jesus said if we remain in Him, we will live.
And I’m starting to see how life begins there.
This has been stirring something in me about prayer.
Not casual prayer. Intentional prayer.
Because when I started praying with intention, everything shifted.
I’ll write next week about intentional prayer.
How to pray intentionally.
And how my life changed when I did.
Here is your reminder:
You can’t become who God called you to be. If you keep feeding the old you.
What This Meant to You
Before you click off or move on…
I want to hear from you.
When you read this, what stood out?
Was it realizing how the “small things” were shaping you?
The way they slowly feed the bigger sin cycles?
Or noticing where you’ve been trying to change the sin, without changing what’s feeding it?
